I Love Being Black is a movement/brand connecting Black people worldwide. CEO Kumi Rauf founded the company in Oakland over 15 years ago, with the goal of increasing the knowledge and self-value in the Black community through positivity, awareness and fashion.
A computer scientist and social media genius by trade, in less than three years Kumi grew the I Love Being Black Facebook fan page from zero to over 6 million “Likes.” This makes it one of the largest Black-owned Facebook fan pages in the world, and in the top 100 for all clothing pages!
Year after year I Love Being Black’s apparel and accessories are a big hit with attendees at Oakland’s Art & Soul festival.
