O Psi Feeds the Homeless

The Honorable O Psi Chapter (UC Berkeley) brought the UC Berkeley community together in September to feed the homeless.

The event, called Feed the Homeless (One Meal at a Time), was the brainchild of O Psi President Kojuan Williams, where he urged students to use some of their meal points for the day to purchase a lunch to feed to the many homeless people who unfortunately surround the campus. If students didn’t have meal points, they could purchase some food from another establishment and bring it to the event.

Sigma, Zeta Grad Chapters Address Domestic Violence at Forum

The Oakland chapters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. joined the movement to fight domestic violence in the Bay Area by holding a forum Oct. 29 titled “Domestic Violence: How to Help the Family Heal.”

The aim of the forum was to open up the conversation about domestic violence in the communities of color, in particular, to address the factors that lead up to abuse within the home and the resulting brokenness that follows. In 2011, about 1.5 million women and 834,700 men have been raped and or physically assaulted by an intimate partner each year in the United States.
