Davis, who has been the police chief for East Palo Alto for the last eight years, was recently selected to take a post in the U.S. Department of Justice as the director of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). In this new role, he will work with Attorney General Eric Holder on issues related to racial profiling, community policing and gang violence—issues that he has been working on for years.

Bro. Riley Re-Elected to Fourth Term on Peralta College Board

Bro. Bill Riley, a member of the Alpha Nu Sigma (Oakland) chapter and a Distinguished Service Chapter member, was re-elected to his seat on the Peralta Community College District Board of Trustees on Nov. 2.

Winning 69.5 percent of the votes, Bro. Riley beat out his sole challenger and will now enter his fourth term representing Area 5 on the community college board. Area 5 includes Oakland’s Rockridge District and the city of Piedmont.
